2010 - December 10 - Psychiatric Evaluation

John Galligan (Lead attorney for Hasan)
"A panel of health professionals is evaluating Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan to determine
his mental state during last year's deadly shooting rampage at Fort Hood. The three
member military panel met with Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan this week in jail and has until
mid-January to submit its report."
The panel will also determine whether Hasan had a severe mental illness during the Nov. 5, 2009, shooting and, if so, whether such a condition prevented him from knowing right from wrong."   Judge Colonel James Pohl recently ruled:
"There's enough evidence for a trial and said it could be a capital case.
There were "reasonable grounds to believe an aggravating factor exists."
